Proposed Landscape Scheme - Wolf Tone Park

This competition entry to design a new landscaped park in an urban area of Dublin aimed to combine local history, topography and materiality create a unique and memorable space within the city. The use of artificial contouring, changes in materials, screen walls and a small waterfall were all devices used to create two distinct and internalised spaces within the park. A statue, mural wall, poetry inscribed paving slabs and reused tombstone within the proposed new waterfall tell the story of Wolf Tome and the Rebellion and link the newly landscaped features seamlessly with the places past and its use as a graveyard. The proposed new time piece, however, reflected the desire that the park should become a place for present and future generations to use and enjoy.
